On the occasion of the NDE Digital Heritage Month in November 2024, Amsterdam Time Machine and Hilversum Time Machine will be organising a network event for all Time Machine initiatives in the Netherlands.  This will take place on Thursday 21st of November in Amsterdam. We welcome all Time Machine representatives and anyone who is working on making history locally relevant in other ways (we are thinking of initiatives such as historic centres and historical geography (HISGIS and Allmaps): do you want to share what you are working on or are you curious to hear from others what is happening? Save the date and come to Amsterdam on November the 21st.

Save the Date!

On Thursday 17 October 2024, the UvA's CREATE Lab and the Amsterdam Time Machine, together with the Digital Heritage Network, Allmaps and the Amsterdam City Archives, will organise a data sprint. The aim of this sprint is to work in teams on a 'shared canvas' for references and annotations. We will work with early modern maps, image collections (visual material) and handwritten and HTR transcriptions (textual material). The theme is: Storytelling. The programme will be launched in September.

A new digital application developed by scholars of the University of Amsterdam brings together wartime diaries of Amsterdam women in an innovative way. The launch of this Amsterdam Diaries Time Machine on May 4 will discuss the importance of diaries as a source for historical research.
